LTD RACING TRIO MAKES TOP TEN IN SUPERSPORT, NASH ON MOTO-GT2 POLE IN NEW JERSEY

Millville, New Jersey (September 4, 2009)– LTD Racing's teen racers practiced for the New Jersey AMA Pro SuperSport race at New Jersey Motorsports Park and all three made the top ten on the timesheets on Friday. Tomas Puerta was sixth and Jake Gagne was ninth in the afternoon. Huntley Nash performed admirably in a triple-duty weekend, winning the pole position in Moto-GT2, qualifying for the Daytona SportBike races Saturday and Sunday, and earning tenth in SuperSport practice.

Puerta showed good speed in both sessions. He was fifth in the morning and sixth in the afternoon with a time of 1:26.060 as he has recovered from a hand injury that slowed him at the last few events. “My hand is much better than in the last two rounds,” said the Colombian. “I'm feeling really good. In the first session I learned the track. In the second session, I set some good times but I crashed right at the very end as I was pushing to go faster. I was pleased with everything before that. The track is really challenging and we've all been having a lot of fun this weekend.”

Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup racer Jake Gagne just turned 16 and is filling in for Joey Pascarella this weekend as Joey participates in Supermoto this weekend. Gagne's first race weekend on a 600cc SuperSport machine is going well, he says. His best time was 1:27.479 in the afternoon. “It's been really cool to get to ride a new bike at a new track. I learned a lot and having fun on the 600, figuring it out. It's new to me but it's really cool,” said the Californian. “The track is fun and I think the rest of the weekend will be good.”

Huntley Nash is trying to help the Touring Sport Ducshop Ducati team win the MotoGT-2 championship and has won for the team in the other two times he raced for them in 2009 at Mid-Ohio and Kansas. On Friday, his lap put the #38 bike on pole position and the Georgian will race with teammate Frank Shockley on Saturday. “I tried to do some consistent fast laps and that's what I was able to do,” said Nash. “We're really looking forward to the race tomorrow.”

Nash also made progress on his Yamaha R6 he rode in both SuperSport and Daytona SportBike and he chopped a second off his times in the last session of the day. “I was really behind in laps because I didn't get to ride much on Thursday, but we made good progress today. I just did lap after lap,” said Nash. “I did pretty much the whole SportBike session without pulling in, just getting more experience on worn tires. Between Daytona SportBike qualifying and SuperSport practice, the team changed the rear spring and it really helped. I dropped down into the 1:27s and into the top ten. Hopefully tomorrow will be good and we'll make some more changes. Thanks to everyone in the team for working so hard.”
